What
Kind of Leader Are You? By Dr. Greg Wiens What kind of leader are you? Let's face it; we are all
gifted in different ways and we lead in different ways. As I work with
more and more leaders in churches, I find their leadership focus often falls
into one of three areas: strategic, tactical and logistical. I borrow
these three terms from military jargon because I think their concepts fit
very well in the church. In simplified military terms, strategic has to do with
the level of leadership and corresponding decisions on how to win the
war. The emphasis is on deciding which battles are next to be fought;
on what fronts do we focus our resources. The tactical leadership
decisions focus on how to win the battles; what plans must be executed to
overcome the enemy in a specific arena. The logistical leadership
decisions center around how do we get the resources to the soldiers in the
battle; specifically how do we keep the warriors supplied, informed and
encouraged. To

My Story... God's Glory! "The only word to describe your case is miraculous!" This statement came from a doctor reviewing my experience of
January 14, 2007. On that Sunday morning my wife Gale and I were attending
the early worship service at Crossings Community Church of Lake Mary,
Florida. During that service Pastor Keith Wilkins was to anoint me and pray
for the testing I would have that coming week for an aneurysm that had
developed on my ascending aorta leading from my heart. |

Pray! We
received an e-mail from Bill Sandstrom, whose brother, Churck Sandstrom (who
recently pastored in Ohio) lays in a coma following an attack earlier this
month: "My brother, Chuck lies in a coma after being assaulted
July 1st. Access to up-dates of his condition can be found at www.chuckscircleoflove.com. Our family would appreciate the prayers of the Family of God
in Florida on his behalf. We believe God is doing a mighty work, and
are praying and waiting for Chuck to wake up. (The longer the coma; the
longer the recovery time.) Chuck is breathing on his own, which is the most positive
change to date. Trusting in His Care," Bill Sandstrom Please join us in prayer for Chuck and ask God for His
divine mercy in this difficult time for the Sandstrom family. |

In
Sympathy Lillian Sugg Retired
Church of God Minister Lillian Sugg has passed away. She was preceded
by her husband, Silas Sugg, also a retired Church of God Minister, this past
year. Sister Sugg passed peacefully Sunday, July 19, 2009 at around
7am. Viewing
and services took place at Riverside Memorial Park Town and Country Funeral
Home in Jacksonville, Florida. Viewing was held from 1-2pm on Saturday,
July 25th, and the funeral service began at 2pm, followed by a graveside
service and then a dinner hosted by the Northside Church of God, of
Jacksonville, Florida. Rev. Judy Weeks officiated the services. |

Resource Center for a time of prayer for our pastors and churches. If you
