This weekend we celebrated our independence. Anything of value costs dearly. It was Thomas Paine who wrote: “What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.” (The Crisis, December 23, 1776) He wrote this as people in America were facing a challenge of fighting for their freedom or succumbing to Britain’s domination. Over 75% of the leaders to whom he presented this lost their lives, fortunes or family members through the war that ensued. They felt FREEDOM was worth giving everything for.
As God’s Church we too have to decide what is our freedom in Christ worth? God the Father paid for it with the inestimable price of Jesus’ death on the cross. What are we willing to pay so that those who live, work and play around us also experience this freedom in Christ?

This one-hour conference call will focus on practical handles in developing EQ. EQ unlike IQ can develop and grow. Additionally, EQ is said to be an important indicator of successful leadership. EQ is best developed in the context of trust and transparent relationships.
The call will center around the “how questions” of EQ such as:
• How do I know my EQ?
• How do I read emotions in myself or others?
• How do we lead our staff in EQ development?
• How do we build trust so we can work on EQ?
• How do I manage emotions not control them?
• How do I leverage EQ in relationship management?
• How do I process EQ with my spouse?
• How do I know what I am feeling?
The first step in EQ development is to know what your EQ is. If you desire to take the HGC online tool for EQ, we are making it available to those on the previous call for $10 each. If you have staff members who were not on the call or someone you think would benefit from our follow-up call, they too can access the online tool for $15 each. This call is free to covenant churches or if you were on the previous call. This call costs $10, if not.
